OMEGA token
Rewards programme
35 million OMEGA over 10 years for the people who make OMEGA work: stability pool depositors, stakers and liquidity providers.
#Who earns
- Stability pool depositors, for backing OMEGA's loans.
- OMEGA stakers.
- Liquidity providers (farming) in three pools: oUSD/USDCx, OMEGA/ADA and ADA/oUSD.
Borrowers don't earn OMEGA rewards, so nobody can farm rewards by borrowing against themselves.
#The yearly budget
Each year has a budget, available from the start of that year and 20% smaller than the year before. Rewards are front-loaded, when they matter most, but never stop suddenly.
| Year | Budget (OMEGA) | Share of supply |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 7,840,000 | 7.8% |
| 2 | 6,270,000 | 6.3% |
| 3 | 5,020,000 | 5.0% |
| 4 | 4,020,000 | 4.0% |
| 5 | 3,210,000 | 3.2% |
| 6 | 2,570,000 | 2.6% |
| 7 | 2,060,000 | 2.1% |
| 8 | 1,640,000 | 1.6% |
| 9 | 1,320,000 | 1.3% |
| 10 | 1,050,000 | 1.1% |
| Total | 35,000,000 | 35% |
#How it's shared
There's no fixed split. Each group's rate is watched closely and adjusted to how it's performing: more where liquidity is thin, or where the stability pool is short of what OMEGA needs. Every change is published well before it takes effect.
#The rules that don't move
- The budget is a hard limit. The OMEGA sits in a rewards contract that can only pay rewards, and never more than the year's budget. No wallet ever holds a year's worth.
- Unused OMEGA extends the programme. Whatever a year doesn't pay carries to the end of the schedule, past year 10. It never raises a later year's budget.
- It can be topped up, never drained. The contract accepts more OMEGA. If the treasury doesn't need all of its share, governance can move some into rewards, announced in advance.
- Everything on-chain. Budgets, rates and every payment can be checked by anyone.
