Using the testnet
Try OMEGA with test tokens on Cardano's Preprod network. Nothing costs real money, and everything you find helps make the launch safer.
#Before you start
The testnet runs on Preprod, Cardano's test network, at testnet.omega.so. It's open to invited testers now and opens to everyone shortly.
You'll need a Cardano wallet that supports Preprod, such as Lace or Eternl.
#Four steps
- Switch your wallet to Preprod. In your wallet's settings, change the network to Preprod.
- Get test ADA from the Cardano testnet faucet.
- Get test USDCx and OMEGA from the tap on the testnet's home page: 1,000 USDCx and 10,000 OMEGA, once a day.
- Try everything. Open a loan, deposit in the stability pool, stake OMEGA and swap in the peg module.
Check which wallet account is connected before you sign anything, and that your wallet is on Preprod.
#What's the same as mainnet
The testnet runs the same contracts that will be audited, with the same rules and launch settings. A few things differ: governance is a single key rather than the 3-of-5 multisig, and two services are stand-ins, because the real ones don't run on Preprod:
- Prices: a stand-in for Pyth, signed by the testnet's own service and following the real ADA price.
- Minswap pools: stand-in pools that follow the real market, so the price cross-check behaves as it will on mainnet.
#Reporting what you find
Report bugs, confusing wording and ideas on GitHub. Screenshots help. Testers and early users share 5% of the OMEGA supply; see Tokenomics.
